June 17, 2025 - DisrupTech Ventures has made its first Sub-Saharan African investment by backing Nigerian startup Winich Farms. The funding is part of Winich’s pre-Series A round.
Winich Farms, an agri-tech company headquartered in Lagos, focuses on improving market access and financial inclusion for smallholder farmers in Nigeria. Winich is leveraging embedded finance to create entirely new infrastructure for rural economies. Through their Winich Cards, farmers can receive digital payments, build transaction histories, and access credit — all crucial for scaling up their operations.
Already enabling more than 180,000 farmers across 29 of Nigeria's 36 states, Winich is tackling two massive barriers to agricultural growth: connecting farmers directly to buyers and eliminating middlemen and enabling them to build credit profiles and access essential working capital.
